Galactic Impact Tektite Ring

Galactic Impact Tektite Ring

Another ring from our Signature Series, "Galactic Impact" showcases a blend of large and small fragments of Indochinite Tektite, dating from 0.3 to 35 million years ago and sourced from Australia. Complemented by Muonionalusta meteorite shavings and sparkling diamond dust, it creates a mesmerizing effect. For a touch of luminescence, green glow powder adds a vibrant flair; however, if you prefer a more subtle appearance, you can request a substitute of crushed selenite instead.

Tektites are captivating natural glass objects formed from debris ejected during meteorite impacts. These intriguing specimens are relatively rare and can be found across the globe, with notable occurrences in Australia, Central Europe, the Ivory Coast, and Southeast Asia. Their colors range from deep black or dark brown to vibrant green and gray, showcasing a variety of shapes and surface features.

To understand tektite formation, envision a meteorite crashing into Earth at incredible speeds. The impact generates immense heat and pressure, melting nearby rocks. This molten material is then thrust into the atmosphere, where it cools and solidifies rapidly. As these newly-formed glass objects descend back to Earth, they become tektites. Each piece serves as a fascinating relic, offering a glimpse into our planet's geological past and the complex processes that shape its surface.
